Srishti’s Accomplishments in the Greater Puget Sound Area
Adhithi’s school, Srishti Dance Academy (regd. WA) is an
educational institution dedicated to the promotion of
"Bharathanatyam",
an ancient South Indian Dance form. Srishti has
been active in the Greater Eastside of the Puget Sound Area, WA since1996.
Adhithi Ramaa Venkat is a trained Guru in Vazhuvoor style of Bharathanatyam, which
is known for its Grace and Intensity.
Srishti has around 20 students in its rolls at any one time.
Adhithi has graduated 6 students (qualifying them for advanced solo
performances
representing Vazhuvoor tradition of Bharathanatyam and the school) conducting
elaborate traditional solo
performances called ‘arangetram’ with live musical
accompaniment. Srishti has to its credit, over a hundred performances.
Srishti is a proud sponsor of NWFolkLife, ASHA, CHAYA, HTCC,
Ragamala, non-profit organizations which conduct festivals
such as the
FolkLife Arts festival in Seattle every year. Attendees come from all over
the US including visiting artists from
all over the world to participate and
enjoy these festivals.

Adhithi and her School Srishti Dance Academy have stayed
steadfast on presenting this Art form at non-ticketed
festivals and charity
fundraising events, and without remuneration. Over the past 12 years, Adhithi
and her school
Srishti, have returned monetary gifts / tokens of
appreciation, for the benefit of the respective organizations.
Ticketing is a
potential barrier to entry, and Adhithi is proud to say that herself and her
school have sought
presentation opportunities from and sponsored
organizations with philosophy of community outreach / cause,
as a principle,
by avoiding any consideration of any sort of token of appreciation. Samyuktha, Adhithi’s daughter,
joined the school at age 3 and
helps out in training the younger students, and is an accomplished artist
herself,
having performed Solo at NWFolkLife when she was 5. She will ensure
the continuance of Adhithi’s commitment to
the advancement of this art form
in the NW community.
